Heavy snowfall causes more than a dozen roofs to collapse
RARITAN BOROUGH - The heavy snowfall throughout the state has caused more than a dozen roofs to partially collapse within a 24-hour span.
Five businesses that were housed in a strip mall along Route 202 in Raritan Borough remain closed after the weight of snow caused the roof to collapse around 11:45 a.m. Friday.
Workers in a nail salon in the strip noticed water leaking through the roof, and the front of the building starting to cave in. They had everyone evacuate before anyone was hurt. The building will likely have to be demolished.
