EAST BRUNSWICK - Heavy rains and gusty winds moving across the Garden State slowed drivers for the morning commute.

Several accidents and road closures were reported due to flooding conditions on roadways.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist James Gregorio says as much as 2 inches of rain were dumped on parts of the state.

Gregorio says there's another chance for more precipitation overnight as a cold front moves through the area.
