PATERSON - Emergency room Dr. Nader Boulous, of St. Joseph's in Paterson, says days like these have brought more patients to the hospital for heat-related illnesses, suffering from dehydration to heat stroke.

Dr. Boulous says that he had a patient yesterday that came in after working in the extreme heat. He says the patient was landscaping and "he came in with heat stroke. His temperature was 107 degrees."

Doctors used a cold-water cooling pad and IV fluids to bring his temperature down. Doctors say your best line of defense is to stay cool and drink plenty of fluids.
