TRENTON - Lawmakers in Trenton are working on Gov. Chris Christie's budget proposal today.
New Jersey Treasurer Andrew Sidamon-Eristoff and the Legislature's budget officer, David Rosen, are both set to update the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee on the state's finances during the first of several hearings on the matter.
It's the first time the treasurer will go over the numbers for the governor's $29.4 billion 2012 state budget proposal since the governor unveiled it last month.
The proposal projects $1.2 billion in growth from tax revenue due to the improving economy.
