Monmouth County officials say a hazmat situation at the county's correctional facility turned out to be a false alarm.Dozens of emergency medical units were dispatched

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP - Monmouth County officials say a hazmat situation at the county's correctional facility turned out to be a false alarm.

Dozens of emergency medical units were dispatched to the jail on Waterworks Road in Freehold Township at around 9 p.m. last night. County hazmat units and the New Jersey EMS Task Force were also requested to the scene.

A county spokesperson tells News 12 New Jersey the county responded accordingly as if it were a potentially hazardous situation.

Emergency officials later determined the situation was a false alarm.
