When the labs no longer need the beagles, Happy Paws takes them in, brings them for checkups at the veterinarian, and finds them homes within the community.

Their latest rescue mission secured the lives of several lucky pups, right in time for St. Patrick's Day.

"We've rescued eight beagles today," said Chelsea Riveley, President and Co-founder of Happy Paws Rescue, who gave the group of dogs the names of Irish celebrities. "In that group is Matthew McConaughey, Liam Neeson, Lara Flynn Boyle and Rose McGowan."

To date, Happy Paws has rescued nearly 140 Beagles.

The group meets at Petco in Piscaraway every Sunday for those interested in fostering a rescued dog.
