HACKENSACK - Suspended Hackensack Police Chief Charles 'Ken' Zisa has been convicted of official misconduct and insurance fraud.

The charges stem from two incidents involving his former girlfriend Kathleen Tiernan.

He was acquitted of conspiracy and witness tampering charges. Tiernan was found guilty of insurance fraud, but acquitted of conspiracy.

Zisa was suspended without pay in 2010 after prosecutors say he removed his girlfriend from the scene of a 2008 accident in which she was suspected of being intoxicated, then filed false information in an insurance claim.
