NEWARK - Police say gunshots broke out in the Kemsco Village development near Crane and Stone streets in Newark this afternoon, leaving four people wounded.

Witnesses say the victims were all teenagers sitting in the backyard of the complex. Evidence markers were set up where gun casings were found.

Witness Patti Christian says the gunshots sounded like a machine gun.

None of the injuries is believed to be fatal. The shooting victims were taken to UMDNJ for treatment.

Newark Police believe the shootings are drug related; but the investigation will continue, as will the search for suspects.
