EDISON - New Jersey's latest gun buyback event was held today at four locations in Somerset County.

Residents were able to surrender weapons at the Bernards Township Community Service Center, the First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Franklin Township, the Community Baptist Church in North Plainfield and Saint John's Episcopal Church in Somerville.

Anyone dropping off a gun can received up to $250 per weapon.

So far, the state-sponsored program has collected more than 9,000 weapons around New Jersey.
