Group seeking better educational opportunities for Latino children

PERTH AMBOY - The Latino Leadership Alliance says more needs to be done to improve educational opportunities for Latino children.

The group believes too many Latino children are stuck in underperforming school districts.

The alliance says that not only do the schools need to improve their policies to improve the school and reduce the dropout rate among Latino children, that parents should also be more invested in their children?s education.

The group is also asking New Jersey to approve tax credits to allow parents to send their children to better-performing school districts.
