OAKHURST - A regional commission is being formed to identify and implement ways to reduce flooding in Monmouth County.

The Oakhurst area floods virtually every time there's a heavy rain, and trees are toppling over in the woods because the ground is so saturated.

The commission will be made up of representatives from the five towns affected: Ocean Township, Eatontown, Long Branch, West Long Branch and Tinton Falls.

"It's needed, I think it's a good thing. I mean, if the towns get together and do something about it," says flood victim Harry Scharmberg.

The commission will explore the possibility of forming catch basins and dredging the waterway.
