ROSELLE - A federal grant has put laptops into the hands of students at the Grace Wilday Junior High School in Roselle.

The grant will provide free laptops to the school district over the next two years, enough for every sixth-grade student and teacher.

The Lenovo ThinkPad laptop computers will come pre-loaded with Google Apps Education Edition software, bringing new communication tools to the school.

A group of Grace Wilday students attended a "computer bootcamp" this summer where they learned basic computer maintenance, technical support skills and problem solving skills for basic troubleshooting.

The students will be allowed to keep the computers until they graduate high school.
