PAULSBORO - (AP) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie onThursday plans to sign a bill into law that would offer tax creditsto encourage the development of renewable energy resources.

The bill establishes an offshore wind renewable energycertificate program and authorizes the Economic DevelopmentAuthority to provide tax credits for qualified wind energyfacilities.

Sponsors of the measure say wind projects would createsignificant development and environmental benefits for the state.

A state study released in June found wind energy would havelittle negative impact on New Jersey's environment.

Christie will sign the measure at the Paulsboro Marine Terminalport.
