NEWARK - Gov. Chris Christie spoke to members of the press following news that he underwent weight loss surgery in February.

The governor said the surgery on Feb. 16 lasted about 40 minutes, and he was back to work that Monday.

Christie told the press that the decision to have the surgery was very personal and that he based his choice on what was best for his family.

When asked why the surgery was not announced to the public, Christie said, "I've never lied about it, but it's not anybody else's business but mine."

Christie has reportedly lost 40 pounds since the surgery.
