Gov. Christie's family earned less in 2010

TRENTON - (AP) - His income tax return shows New Jersey Gov.Chris Christie and his wife earned less money in 2010.

The joint return released by the couple on Tuesday showsChristie and his wife, Mary Pat, earned $449,607 last year. That'sdown from $544,047 in 2009.

The Statehouse bureau of The Star-Ledger of Newark and TheRecord reports the numbers reflect a drop in earnings forChristie's wife at the Wall Street firm Cantor Fitzgerald. Mary PatChristie's salary was $264,681, or almost half of what she earnedin 2009.

The first family's income from taxable interest fell to $6,875.Earnings from capital gains increased to $8,116.

The Christies also said they gave $22,496 in charitable gifts. The couple received a filing extension before the April 15 taxdeadline.
