Gov. Christie rips Sen. Weinberg for taking salary, pension

TRENTON - Gov. Chris Christie lashed out yesterday at a frequent critic for collecting a public pension at the same time she serves in the Senate and collects a salary.

At yesterday's news conference the governor called Sen. Loretta Weinberg the "queen of double standards" for taking a $49,000 lawmaker salary as she simultaneously draws about $36,000 a year in pension benefits. Weinberg recently criticized Christie for not being harsh enough on Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo who is taking a salary and pension for the same job.
