Gov. Christie resumes town hall meetings

UNION - (AP) - Gov. Chris Christie is set to resume his townhall events with a gathering in northern New Jersey on Monday.

The 3:30 p.m. event will be held at the Boys and Girls Club inthe heavily Democratic town of Union.

Christie has previously used the events to chastise lawmakers andpush his agenda - often making ready-for-YouTube moments with hisantics.

But Monday's event marks the first town hall Christie has heldsince striking a deal with Democratic Legislative leaders tooverhaul the state's pension and health benefits programs.

Since that time, the state Senate president and Assembly speakerhave at times referred to the governor with someless-than-flattering names as the three sparred over various statematters.
