EDISON - State Sen. Barbara Buono is being criticized for a comment she made that some say referenced Gov. Chris Christie's weight.
At a Labor Day weekend event, Buono was speaking about the "Stronger than the Storm" ad campaign featuring Christie and his family. "Seeing Chris Christie frolicking on the beach is not going to drive me to the Jersey Shore," she said.
Christie responded to a question from the media on Tuesday about whether he felt the shot was below the belt.

"I think it's unfortunate that Sen. Buono has decided to go down the same path that Gov. Corzine did when he commented derisively about my physical appearance," Christie says.
Buono described the incident as a "non-issue."
