Good Samaritans scramble to save woman under truck

NORTH PLAINFIELD - A group of good Samaritans scrambled to save the life of a woman trapped under a truck.

The woman, Katie Miller, 57, of North Plainfield, was bicycling along Route 22 near the IHOP parking lot in North Plainfield around 11:30 a.m. Monday when she was hit by an SUV. The 68-year-old driver Gilbert Federbush ran into the IHOP to call 911.

IHOP manager Jose Precidio saw Miller pinned under the Izuzu Rodeo and sprang into action. Precidio along with nine others lifted the SUV off of Miller

Miller was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center. The driver of the SUV says he didn't see her. No charges have been filed against the driver.
