JERSEY CITY - The addition of gay marriage in the state of New Jersey could have an impact the entire marriage industry.
From wedding photographers to cake-makers, wedding halls or florists, all could see a boost in business as same-sex weddings are held in the Garden State.
Jersey City photographer Christopher Lane specializes in gay weddings in New York and civil unions in New Jersey. He says he's looking forward to a potential increase in calls for work. "It's great I don't have to go to New York now and do so much," Lane says. "I embrace it. I think it should have happened a long time ago."
Lane says he has noticed through his work that gay unions are generally more reserved and in some cases very private affairs because they haven't been widely accepted. He expects the tone of those celebrations to change.
