UNION BEACH - Residents evacuated in Union Beach during a gas leak were allowed back inside their homes.

Officials say a work crew at Union and Cambridge avenues was digging on the side of the street that was not marked. That side of the street was closed for repairs.

Gas was turned off to at least 30 homes in the immediate area while repairs were made.
