LINDEN - An out-of-control garbage truck smashed into two vehicles this morning in Union County.

The crashed happened around 6:30 a.m. on Elizabeth Avenue near Grant Street.

The driver of the garbage truck somehow lost control, smashing into a van in front of Laeger Metal Spinning and a car in front of K & J Custom Auto Body.

Linden Fire Department Deputy Fire Chief George Kuhn says a fire started from fuel leaking out of the garbage truck.

No one was on the properties or in the vehicles, and no one was injured.
