MONROE TOWNSHIP - After Hurricane Irene, many residents in Monroe Township were left bailing themselves out. Many say they are still waiting for answers from FEMA.

Half a dozen homes on Tyndale Avenue are uninhabitable and homemade signs posted on the street show the frustration.

Kim Delano says water filled her basement and garage after the hurricane. Delano says, "We lost one car, this car is yet to be determined, we lost all of my husband's electronic tools."

Since the flood, many in the community have pitched in to help people like Delano. Tonight, three Monroe residents organized a fundraiser at Forsgate Country Club, which donated use of the facility.

The hosts of the gala hoped to raise $20,000 at the event. Other fundraising efforts are also in the works.
