Funeral held for Mount Arlington officer killed in crash

MOUNT ARLINGTON - Funeral services were held today for fallen Mount Arlington police officer Joseph Wargo.

Dozens of police officers from around New Jersey were among the mourners at St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpha where the services were held.

Morris County prosecutors say Wargo was on duty in his police car when he was struck and killed Sunday morning on Route 80 in Roxbury.

Prosecutors say 29-year-old Michael Cassella, of Howell, was driving under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance when he crashed into a Wargo's police cruiser.

Officer Wargo is survived by his wife Amy.
