ASBURY PARK - Funeral services were held Friday for a Borough of Deal police captain killed last week in a car crash.

Hundreds of mourners gathered in Asbury Park to remember Capt. Earl Alexander.

Alexander was traveling southbound on State Highway 71 approaching the intersection of Perrine Avenue when the vehicle flipped and struck a utility pole.

The 38-year-old leaves behind two young children and a fiancée that he proposed to on Christmas Eve.
