IRVINGTON - A funeral was held for a 3-year-old boy Saturday morning at the Christian Pentecostal Church.

Police say Rahmere Tullis was hit and killed by a car on Sept. 11 as he walked to school with his mother.

The owner of the car, Troy Ruff, jumped a curb and struck Rahmere.

Ruff, a fugitive wanted for aggravated assault, has been charged in the boy's death.

Newark Mayor Ras Baraka delivered Rahmere's eulogy during Saturday's funeral services.

Funeral attendees honored Rahmere by wearing T-shirts with his picture and ribbons of his favorite color.
