JERSEY CITY - Nearly $5,000 was raised in a fundraiser on Sunday for the families displaced by a fatal fire in Jersey City.

The Grant Avenue fire killed Bishop William Pickett, his wife, and their two adult sons.

People gathered yesterday to pray and release balloons in the family's honor.

The fundraiser brought in gift cards for the families in the six homes destroyed by the flames.
