WYCKOFF - Fresh, as in very fresh, Thanksgiving turkeys are all the rage in some parts of the state.

The Goffle Poultry Farm in Wyckoff offers turkeys raised on its own land.

The farm has sold them directly to consumers in the days leading up to Thanksgiving since 1949.

Customers crammed inside to pick up their orders Wednesday. The farm also offers chickens and turduckens, which is a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey.

"This thing is a turkey and inside is a layer of stuffing," says Trish McGuire, of Oakland. "And everything is deboned. Then a layer of duck, a layer of more stuffing, then a layer of chicken."

Americans spend about $875 million on turkeys for Thanksgiving.
