New Brunswick police urge residents to be on alert after possible rabid fox spotted.

EDISON - Police in New Brunswick are urging residents to be on alert for a possible rabid fox.

The fox was spotted in the Rutgers Village area near the Woodrow Wilson School. The New Brunswick Police Department and Animal Control are actively trying to contain and capture the animal. 

The fox is described as mangy in appearance and aggressive in nature. Residents are urged to not approach the animal.

Anyone who may have seen the fox is asked to call the New Brunswick Police Department at 732-745-5200.
