FORT MONMOUTH - Three contractors at Fort Monmouth are planning to lay off 525 workers beginning next month.

L-3 Services Inc., CTSC LLC, and TECOM-Vinnell Services filed notice of the layoffs with the state Labor Department.

Fort Monmouth is slated to close by mid-September and its mission will move to Aberdeen, Md.

Monmouth County is using a $3.8 million grant to provide job counseling and training to displaced workers.
