WEEHAWKEN - Formula One racing could soon be coming to the Garden State.

Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) is expected to make an announcement about the car races tomorrow. However, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Formula One will make its way to New Jersey in 2013.

According to the newspaper, the London-based racing circuit will announce the Formula One Grand Prix of America will take place in June 2013 on a road course mapped out in Weehawken and West New York along the Hudson River.

The West New York and Weehawken mayors reportedly released a joint statement earlier saying they were in talks with a group of investors about the race.

News 12 New Jersey spoke with supporters who say the event will create jobs and bring international attention on the area. However, many residents say they aren't sold on the idea.
