NEW BRUNSWICK - Ex-coach Mike Rice is due a $100,000 bonus as part of his contract with the university for completing the season at Rutgers, despite being fired this week.

In addition, he earned a $600,000 salary last year.

Officials say he would not be collecting the bonus if he had been fired in December when school administrators first saw the video of Rice mistreating and verbally abusing his players. Instead, Rice was fined $50,000 and suspended for three games.

Mike Rice was fired Wednesday after the video was made public.
