EDISON - New Jersey saw record-breaking temperatures Tuesday as the state continues to see summer-like weather in October.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says Newark broke a 52-year-old record when temperatures reached 84 degrees. Trenton broke a 108-year-old record when temperatures reached 83 degrees.

Curren says Tuesday’s overnight hours should see clear to partly cloudy skies. Temperatures should cool into the low-70s and 60s.

Wednesdays is expected to see mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the mid-80s.

Thursday is expected to see some rain in the afternoon with temperatures in the 70s. Curren says more rain is expected Friday morning and afternoon. Temperatures should reach the low-70s.

The weekend should see temperatures drop back down into the 50s with breezy conditions.
