EDISON - Thunderstorms punctuated the hazy, hot and humid conditions blanketing New Jersey Thursday, slowing the evening commute.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to continue overnight.

Meteorologists say highs are likely to remain in the 90s for the rest of the week. Humidity is expected to drop a bit on Friday.

There is a moderate risk for dangerous rip currents along the Jersey Shore.
