EDISON - Rainy weather has begun to clear out of New Jersey, but left some damage in its wake.

Severe thunderstorms left thousands without power in southern portions of the state. At times, the National Weather Service issued tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that Wednesday is expected to see mostly sunny skies.

High temperatures should reach the mid-80s. Cloudy skies are expected overnight.

Thursday is expected to see more rain that should last for a majority of the day. High temperatures should be slightly cooler at around 78 degrees.

Friday should see clearer weather with sunny skies and highs around 82 degrees.
