EDISON - Rainy weather is expected for the next few days in the Garden State, with temperatures that are unseasonably cool.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Michele Powers says that heavy rain is expected Friday night and could last into Saturday morning.

The Garden State saw rain showers off and on Friday with some clear skies in the afternoon. Scattered rain showers could be heavy at times Friday night. Temperatures are expected to cool from the mid-70s into the 50s.

Saturday should see more rain in the morning with cloudy skies for the rest of the day. Temperatures could dip into the 60s.

Sunday is expected to see temperatures dip even further, with highs in the mid-40s. Skies should see a mixture of sun and clouds.

Monday is expected to see mostly cloudy skies with rain possible late in the day. Temperatures are expected to only reach the low-50s.
