EDISON - Lingering clouds and scattered rain are expected to continue Friday evening into Saturday across the Garden State.

News 12 New Jersey meteorologists say temperatures will drop to around 50 across much of the state overnight.

The National Weather Service warned of widespread but minor coastal flooding during Friday night's high tide, between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.

Forecasters say skies will remain mostly cloudy on Saturday with highs around 63. Rain will return for Mother's Day with highs in the upper 60s.
