EDISON - New Jersey saw temperatures that were slightly below average on Tuesday, but things are expected to warm up for the rest of the week.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that although Tuesday saw cloudy skies, the chance of rain should be negligible for the rest of the day. However the National Weather Service issued a coastal flood advisory for parts of the state until Wednesday due to the amount of rain over the weekend.

Tuesday’s overnight hours should see temperatures drop slightly into the upper-50s and low-60s. The clouds should also dissipate.

Wednesday should see a mix of sun and clouds with high temperatures around 80 degrees. Thursday and Friday should continue to warm with temperatures in the mid- to high-80s.

Curren says that there is the chance of thunderstorms for Saturday with temperatures reaching into the 90s.
