EDISON - New Jersey saw lots of sunshine and warm temperatures Tuesday, but the dry and windy conditions prompted the National Weather Service to issue a red flag fire warning.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says the winds Tuesday reached 20 to 30 mph. Several brush fires did pop up around the state due to the dry conditions.

Tuesday’s overnight hours are expected to see mostly clear skies. Temperatures are expected to cool into the 50s and upper-40s.

Wednesday should see more sunshine with temperatures reaching the mid-60s.

Curren says the next opportunity for rain could be Friday.
