Flooding shuts down southbound Route 1 in South Brunswick

SOUTH BRUNSWICK - A section of Route 1 in South Brunswick is closed because of flooding on the roadway.

Police closed one southbound lane when water began to rise on Route 1 near Raymond Road, but were forced to shut it down as levels continued to rise.

Cars are being diverted through the area via Route 522.  Deans Lane is also closed. 

There are reports of flooding in other parts of South Brunswick, but there are no reports of injuries.
