Flood victims worry that rain will ruin their Thanksgiving

FAIRFIELD - Days before Thanksgiving, floodvictims are wondering whether or not rain will ruin theircelebration.

Dave Bergamatto and other neighbors in Fairfield have paidthousands of dollars to have their homes repaired following HurricaneIrene. Now, some of them are wondering if Thanksgiving will bring yetanother round of floods. The forecast calls for 2-3 inches of rain tonight into tomorrow. Flood advisories have been issued for some coastal counties.

A meeting was held in Wayne to discuss chronic flooding with localofficials and a Flooding Task Force. Some flood victims at the meetingwere concerned with projections that local rivers could reach close toflood stage again this week because of this latest rain.
