Flood rips Monroe Township home in half

MONROE TOWNSHIP - A couple in Monroe Township returned to their flooded home to find it in pieces, with the family room swallowed by a giant sinkhole.

Albert Ladzinski tells News 12 New Jersey he feels bad for himself, but sorry for his wife since she lost jewelry, including her wedding ring.

Ladzinski says they have no flood insurance because they never needed it. He also explained that they have a letter from the township that states that if the the township needs to demolish the house; the Ladzinskis have to pay for it. The letter also says if they don't leave their home in 90 days, they'll face a $2,000 a day fine.
