Flash mob fizzles in Livingston

LIVINGSTON - There was a heavy security presence at Livingston Mall tonight in preparation for a potential flash mob that had billed their gathering as "Hell Night" on Facebook.

The large group was expected to descend upon the mall after 5 p.m., but their event didn't bring any hellish fury. Online sites canceled calls for the crowd, but authorities in Essex County had decided to be proactive as a precaution.

Law enforcement agencies even set up a mobile command center. The preparations were taken following large groups of teens gathering for similar mob scenes in nearby South Orange.
