Flanders flooding causes road collapse

FLANDERS - The flooding in Flanders is causing more problems as part of River Road collapsed overnight.

Residents say the south branch of the Raritan River caused the problems. In addition, a resident says the floodwaters caused a gazebo to uproot, which headed downstream and knocked out a private road bridge.

The collapsed bridge has left some homeowners stranded. News 12 New Jersey spoke with some residents via cell phone. The bridge that collapsed is a private one, so homeowners may have to pay out of their own pockets to build a new one.
