TRENTON - Nominations are now open for the first annual New Jersey Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards.

Eight different categories were announced at a news conference in Trenton to honor New Jersey businesses owned by immigrants.

"It's crucial to not only look forward at the immigrant entrepreneurs who are coming here, but also recognize that immigrant entrepreneurs had a huge part in making this state what it is," says Amy Hollander, of the American Jewish Committee.

Award categories range from sustainability to community involvement.
