MOUNT OLIVE - Firefighters warned kids tonight about the dangers of skating on thin ice after two teens died recently in Budd Lake.

Nick Cianciotto and Clyde Schimanski III drowned on Budd Lake earlier this month after falling through thin ice.

Dozens of Boy Scouts, their siblings and parents gathered at the Budd Lake Fire House tonight to learn how to keep themselves safe.
The boys learned about ropes and other rescue tools, along with what they can do to protect themselves. They also learned about what to look for on the ice, what to bring if they go out on the ice and what to do in a worst-case scenario
