Firefighters battle fire at PSE&G substation in Branchburg

Fire crews are battling a large and smoky fire at a PSE&G substation in Branchburg. (1/8/14)

BRANCHBURG - Fire crews are allowing a large and smoky fire at a PSE&G substation in Branchburg to burn out.

PSE&G says there are no injuries, and an equipment failure was the cause of the fire at the facility on Route 202.

A spokesperson for the utility says no customers lost service as a result of the fire.

Town officials say the fire will continue to burn until all the oil in the transformers is used up.
