Firefighters battle 4-alarm blaze in Jersey City (3/27/13)

JERSEY CITY - Fire officials say a four-alarm fire in Jersey City is now under control.

The fire broke out at 27 Belmont Ave. at around 11:30 a.m. and quickly spread through the row of four homes. Fire crews were first called to the scene at around 12 p.m.

The fire chief believes the fire began on the first floor and quickly spread up to the roof.

Officials say a firefighter suffered a burn but is expected to be OK.
