ORANGE - Early reports that someone was trapped inside an early morning fire at an Orange apartment building turned out to be false, fire officials say.

The fire on Hickory Street broke out before 5:30 a.m. today. It was quickly controlled by responding rescue units.

Fire officials say squatters were seen leaving the building. The cause is under investigation.
