WOODBRIDGE - A fire destroyed a Woodbridge home Monday afternoon.

The blaze started around 12:30 p.m. at the home on East Iselin Parkway.

Witnesses tell News 12 New Jersey that a man and woman were inside eating lunch when they heard a popping sound in the basement.

Despite the cold and windy conditions Monday, firefighters were able to contain the fire from spreading to a nearby house.

The residents were able to safely get out of the house and no one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
